An Introduction To Jungling in League of Legends

What is Jungling & What do I know?

Hello! My name is Muhammad, and I've been a consistent competitive player in League of Legends with vast knowledge of the Jungle and Midlane due to my 3+ years of experience in competitive environments. I've competed in tournaments with teams, and I just wanted to make this guide as a project to help some people understand the role and extend the same generosity and knowledge others have extended to me, as the game itself is very complicated and difficult to get into. Even though this is the case it's highly rewarding and builds a strong sense of teamwork, leadership and communication that you can translate into your real life, it's like playing chess with 5 people, every choice made impacts the others enormously, so it teaches consequence and the reward of well thought out actions.

What is Jungle in League of Legends?

The Jungle role in League dictates the majority of how the map is played. Junglers don't play in a single lane, therefore having access to the majority of the map as their gold income is placed as "jungle camps." Essentially, if I'm playing midlane in competitive teamplay I have to stay mid to hit the minions and get gold and get strong, but when I play jungle — which is what I usually opt into when I'm playing ranked soloq without a team — I get to have free reign of the map because my gold and experience sources are scattered on both sides of the map. Due to this, the Jungle role has the option of dictating on which side the game is played and is pivotal in objectives, which grant teamwide stats and bonuses and contribute to winning the game. Essentially, jungle is a very easy role to pick up as you don't have to lane vs an opponent. However, it's very difficult to master as you can single handedly decide the gameplay loop of any game and how the map is played due to the presence Jungle has because of its flexibility.
